Hiiii! If we haven't met yet, I'm Katie (or KT, or KO, or KTO), owner and calligrapher of Knockout Lettering.

 

Since I can remember, I've been doodling on the backs of notebooks, perfecting my signature, and even spent a summer trying to teach myself to write with my left hand. In 3rd grade, I won the championship in the handwriting contest. What can I say? I've been *drawn* to letters all my life.

 

What I love most about calligraphy is that it lets me be part of people's celebrations in a way that feels thoughtful, personal, and fun. In 2014, armed with nothing more than a creative eye and good handwriting, I addressed my sister's wedding invitations and convinced her to let me make a few signs for the day-of. Over the next few years, friends and family kept asking if I could "just make them a little something," too. With their encouragement, Knockout became an official side hustle in 2018. By 2024, after running the business part-time through Covid, I took Knockout full-time. Since then, I've been soaking up every minute of this adventure and have zero intentions of looking back.

I've been part of 70+ weddings (including my own in November 2022 - ask me about what I made!) and have worked with hundreds of clients in Philly and beyond on live event calligraphy, small business signage, and custom gifts. I looove a good seating chart, and am always up for lettering on something new.

 

I'm a big fan of all things Philly (Go Birds), and live here with my husband, Matt, who doubles as Knockout's carpenter/tech support/photographer/cheerleader, and our 13 year old fluff ball pup, Nucky. Other favorite hobbies include: making and devouring hot sauce, showing off my plants, pickling veggies, and being Auntie K to my seven nieces and nephews.
